Paul Smith

Paul Smith

VP & GM - Public Sector

Paul Smith is Vice President of Government Sales Operations at Red Hat. Mr. Smith joined Red Hat in November 2004 and leads the Red Hat Government business unit with responsibility for sales, marketing, consulting, channels and strategic planning. The business unit is responsible for the U.S. Federal government worldwide and the U.S. State, Local and Education marketplace nationally.

Smith brings to Red Hat more than 20 years of experience marketing key technologies to the government marketplace holding various management positions in the sales of software solutions to government agencies and to systems integrators.

Before joining Red Hat, Smith was Vice President of Government Operations at VERITAS. During his 5 year tenure, the business unit was the fastest growing vertical at VERITAS increasing from less than $15M to more than $200M.

Smith worked at Netscape Communications where he ran sales for their State & Local organization nationwide. Prior to that he ran sales organizations at Oracle in the areas of Public Sector, Aerospace and Defense and the Department of Defense. Before joining Oracle, Smith worked for Unisys Corporation where he held management positions responsible for Federal Civilian Agencies.

Smith holds a bachelor of business administration from Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. An avid golfer, skier, he also enjoys playing competitive lacrosse in an area seniors league. A native of Baltimore, Smith currently resides in a suburb of Washington, DC with his wife and 3 children.

Vice President – Business Development, Public Sector

As Vice President of Business Development, Public Sector, Lynne Corddry brings to Red Hat more than 20 years of diverse technical experience as a sales executive in companies such as UNISYS, Network Appliance, Silicon Graphics, Inc., and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Prior to joining Red Hat, Corddry held the position of Vice President and General Manager, Federal Systems and Technology Business Unit, at UNISYS Corporation . She led the growth, margin and profitability of high performance enterprise solutions and services to the Federal Government with responsibility for $280M annually. Over a period of 7 months Corddry turned the Federal Business unit around to become profitable. Prior to UNISYS Corddry was Director, Federal Sales and Homeland Security at Network Appliance where she grew Federal business sector 100% year over year for 4 consecutive years.

Corddry holds a Masters Degree in Marketing and Finance from James Madison University. She has taught and lectured extensively at George Washington University, Montgomery College, and James Madison University. Corddry is a board member of the ITAA/ Government Electronics Industry Alliance.

Bios

S. Bradford Antle
Antle, president and CEO of SI International, has more than 20 years IT leadership experience. Prior to joining SI International in 1999, Antle was named the first director of Washington Technical Operations for Lockheed Martin. He served in the United States Navy for eight years as a surface warfare officer and was deputy department head for systems engineering at one of the Navy's software development facilities for tactical embedded systems.

Dr. Edward H. Bersoff
Dr. Bersoff serves as the president and CEO of ATS Corporation, a publicly traded IT company based in Virginia. Prior to joining ATS, he was chairman, president and CEO of BTG, Inc., which he founded in 1982. A founder and the first chairman of the influential Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), Dr. Bersoff is also a former director of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, and a former chairman for both the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Business Council. Dr. Bersoff is a member of the Board of Visitors of Virginia Commonwealth University and a former member of the Board of Trustee of New York University.

Dr. Renato "Renny" A. DiPentima
Formerly CEO of SRA International Inc., Dr. DiPentima has been called a government IT industry "legend" by Federal Computer Week. DiPentima has more than 40 years experience working with the Federal government. Prior to joining SRA in 1995, DiPentima held several senior management positions in the Federal government, including deputy commissioner for Systems for the Social Security Administration, a Federal enterprise for which DiPentima worked for more than three decades. DiPentima, who retired from SRA in 2007, currently serves on the Information Technology Association of America's Government Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of SRA International, Brocade, Liquid Machines and RedShift Ventures.

Jerry C. Harrison
Harrison is president and CEO of Athlone Global Security Corporation (AGS), an investment company focused on the homeland security industry. Harrison previously served as vice president of business development and sales for General Dynamic C4 Systems where he created a strong government presence for that business unit. Harrison is a veteran of the United States Army, retiring as Major General following an illustrious military career. He is a past president of the Association of the United States Army (George Washington Chapter), a former chairman of the Government Electronics Industry Association and a former vice chairman of the board of the Electronic Industries Alliance.

Dendy Young
Young is currently CEO of McLean Capital, LLC, a private equity firm based in McLean, Va. Prior to joining McLean Capital, Young served as CEO of GTSI, a publicly-traded systems integrator, for ten years. Young, who boasts more than three decades IT industry experience, serves on the Executive Committee of NVTC, as chairman of the TechPAC and on the Board of Directors of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). In addition to numerous community awards, Young received the Lifetime Achievement Award from VARBusiness in 2003 and the Federal CIO Council's Azimuth award in 2000. Young has been named three times to the prestigious Fed 100 and has also won the covered FOSE Industry Award.
